Hours and Entry

·      Entry to the cemetery is permitted only during such times as the entry gates are open.

·      Hours are generally 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. but are subject to change without notice.

Flowers and Decorations

·      Decorations are restricted to natural flowers. Flowers may be placed in a flower receptacle installed by the cemetery for that purpose near the headstone of a grave site or left loose on a grave site.

·      Water for flower receptacles or other uses by visitors is not available. Water from faucets may not be potable and is for maintenance workers only and may not be accessed by visitors. Visitors placing flowers are urged to bring their own water for the flower receptacles.

·      Flowers at grave sites, and any additional decorations, will be removed for weekly landscaping and discarded. This is usually Thursday although after holidays or other events, this day is subject to change.

·      St. John’s Cemetery is not responsible for any lost, stolen, damaged or misplaced items left at gravesites, please do not leave any items other than flowers overnight.

·      Exceptions will be made for flowers, floral displays, or other decorations placed on a grave site at the time of an interment, and on major holidays.

·      Potted plants and permanent decorative installations are prohibited and will be removed and discarded.

Other Items

·      No person other than St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery Trustees or persons acting under the direction of the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery Trustees shall plant trees, shrubs, flowers, ground covering or plants of any type in any part of the cemetery.

·      Cemetery rules and regulations do not allow dogs in the cemetery. If you are walking through the cemetery with your dog, please make sure the dog is leashed and stays on the paved road. When dogs relieve themselves on the lawns, it is not only offensive to the families whose loved ones are buried there, but it creates additional maintenance problems for our groundskeepers.

Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

St. John’s Cemetery
