Welcome to Rowe's Corner Jewish Cemetery

Rowe's Corner cemetery, the only known Jewish cemetery in the parish of Manchester, was established in 1828 by Rebecca Sampson upon the death of her husband Aaron Sampson. It served the very tiny Jewish community that most likely lived in or around the fishing village of Alligator Pond, a few miles away on Jamaica’s south coast.  Hidden away near the village of Watsons Hill off the Rowe's Corner Main Road (also called Rose Corner), the cemetery has only 32 grave sites and just over 50% of them with tombstones.

Burials took place over a period of 66 years, the last one recorded in 1894.
