Rules & Regulations Governing Resurrection Valley, LLC d/b/a Pineview Memory Gardens
Adopted November 1, 2024
The Officers of Pineview Memory Gardens are committed to creating a beautiful and serene environment that brings a sense of peacefulness and rest to all who visit. Achieving this vision requires a carefully considered plan, along with the respectful cooperation of all visitors and plot owners regarding conduct, interments, and the installation of
bronze and granite memorials.
For the mutual protection and dignity of each plot holder, these Rules and Regulations have been adopted to preserve the tranquility, safety, and beauty of Pineview Memory Gardens. All property owners, visitors, and persons within the cemetery, as well as all plots sold, shall be subject to these Rules and Regulations, including any amendments or enhancements adopted by the Corporation to uphold our standards of care. Any prior contract, deed, or certificate of ownership shall be subject to and governed by these Rules and Regulations, with the same binding effect as of the effective date specified herein.
In support of our shared commitment, Pineview Memory Gardens may periodically review and update these guidelines to ensure they reflect our dedication to maintaining a respectful and welcoming environment. Notice of significant changes will be communicated to families and visitors as appropriate.
With mutual respect, let us together maintain Pineview Memory Gardens as a place of lasting peace and beauty for all who visit and all who are laid to rest here.
1. General Conduct
We kindly request that all visitors maintain respectful conduct on cemetery grounds to honor the tranquility and sanctity of Pineview Memory Gardens.
To preserve the peaceful environment, we ask that visitors avoid loud noises, disorderly behavior, or any conduct that may disrupt the setting.
Access to the cemetery is allowed only during daylight hours; visitors are not permitted after sunset without prior approval from cemetery management.
Funerals and interment services take priority over all other activities. We ask that large gatherings or commemorative events be scheduled with the cemetery office to ensure they do not conflict with burial services.
2. Decorations and Floral Arrangements
To honor each grave site respectfully, we ask that visitors limit decorations to one approved flower arrangement placed on the headstone or in a cemetery-approved receptacle. Receptacles should be securely attached to the monument; free-standing or unapproved containers may be removed to maintain the grounds.
Prohibited Items: To ensure safety, ease of maintenance, and visual harmony, the following items are not allowed on gravesites and may be removed by cemetery staff:
· Shepherd's hooks and flower baskets not attached to the headstone
· Bird feeders and wind chimes
· More than one solar light per grave
· Plastic or artificial plants outside of approved containers (granite or bronze vases)
· Glass figurines and stuffed animals
· Beer or soda cans, beer bottles, and tobacco products
· Decorative stones, shells, gravel, rock, marbles, beads or similar materials
· Coping, grave enclosures, plastic fencing, borders, fencing, corner markers
Small Trinkets: Up to two small, tasteful items (such as figurines or whatnots) may be placed on the monument base if they are secure and do not interfere with maintenance.
Litter: We ask visitors to help keep the cemetery grounds clean by disposing of any litter, including cigarette butts and food wrappers, in designated receptacles or taking it off the grounds.
Benches: Benches are permitted only with prior approval from cemetery management and must be constructed of granite—concrete benches are not allowed. All bench installations must be completed by cemetery personnel and may be placed only on the bordering edges of the gardens or as part of a memorial installation in gardens where upright monuments are permitted.
Special Allowances: Balloons are allowed for special occasions, but we kindly ask that families understand they will be removed by cemetery staff once they become deflated.
Maintenance and Removal: To facilitate maintenance, any items that impede upkeep may be removed by staff. Items placed on the grass or in unapproved areas are also subject to removal at the discretion of Pineview Memory Gardens. Items removed will be discarded.
3. Monuments, Markers, and Mausoleums
Approval and Materials: We ask families to seek prior approval from cemetery management for all monuments, grave markers, and headstones to ensure they meet cemetery standards. Only granite or bronze attached to granite is allowed. Materials such as marble, concrete, artificial stone, or other substances are not permitted.
Design and Inscription: Monuments should not contain vulgar language or inappropriate emblems, such as satanic symbols, profane images, or offensive language, to maintain the respectful environment of the cemetery.
Construction and Installation: To ensure safe and stable placement, monuments must be set on a concrete foundation no higher than one inch below the ground’s lowest surface point. Upright monuments must not exceed five feet in height or 75% of the burial space width, whichever is less, and must have a die thickness of at least six inches. Flat markers must be flush with the ground, and lettering must be recessed on stone markers; letters on bronze markers may be raised, but Pineview Memory Gardens cannot assume liability for potential damage.
Size and Positioning: Memorials may not exceed 75% of the width of the burial space. Only one memorial is permitted per interment in flat gardens. Markers, whether stone or bronze, must be at least 24 inches long by 12 inches wide, with exceptions made for children’s graves (minimum 4 inches by 8 inches). All markers should be centered on their concrete foundations.
Permanent Memorial Requirement: A permanent memorial must be installed within 24 months of burial. Families who may need additional time are kindly requested to provide verification that an order has been placed. Cemetery staff will follow up if compliance has not been met.
Installation by Cemetery Personnel: For consistent quality and safety, only Pineview Memory Gardens personnel are authorized to install monuments. Outside vendors must coordinate delivery with the cemetery office.
Outside Vendor Disclaimer: Pineview Memory Gardens holds no responsibility for monuments ordered from outside vendors that have not been permitted in advance by cemetery management. We kindly request families to confirm cemetery requirements before placing orders with outside vendors.
4. Plot Ownership and Transfer
Pineview Memory Gardens must endorse all plot transfers, and a complete transfer record must be maintained at the cemetery office. A reasonable fee will apply.
If transferring interment rights from one area of the cemetery to another, a location transfer fee will apply.
Discounted spaces are non-transferable and may only be used by the designated veteran or child the discount was applicable for. No additional interments, including cremated remains, may occur in a discounted burial plot.
Ownership rights for each plot grant only interment rights and do not confer any ownership of the land itself to the purchaser.
5. Lot Maintenance and Groundskeeping
To keep the grounds beautiful, the cemetery maintains all lots, pathways, and common areas. No outside gardeners, groundskeepers, or other workmen are permitted to perform work within cemetery grounds.
Families may install sod on graves, provided that it is recessed and does not extend above the natural level of the surrounding grass. Any sod that disrupts the uniform appearance or impedes maintenance may be removed or adjusted by cemetery staff.
No lot enclosures, ironwork, or wire fencing is permitted.
We ask visitors to refrain from picking flowers, breaking branches, or causing any disturbance to plants or landscaping.
Pets are welcome in the cemetery, however, pet owners are asked to clean up after their animals, including promptly picking up and disposing of pet waste. Horse owners must ensure that waste bags are attached to collect droppings.
6. Burial and Interment Regulations
Outer Burial Container and Casket Interment: Only one casket interment enclosed in an outer burial container may be placed in each burial space.
Cremated Remains: Up to six cremated remains may be interred in a single burial space in addition to a casket, provided ample space is available following any prior interment. In cases where disinterment of cremated remains is required to accommodate a casket interment, authorization must be obtained from all next of kin of each cremated remains, and additional fees will apply.
Oversized Burial Vaults: Any burial vault that exceeds the width of a standard burial space must utilize two burial spaces to avoid encroaching on neighboring plots.
Tents and Cemetery Equipment: For the safety and uniformity of services and protection of existing interments only Pineview Memory Gardens personnel are permitted to erect tents and set up cemetery equipment, including lowering devices. No outside vendors, aside from direct agents of Pineview Memory Gardens are allowed to perform these setups within the cemetery.
Burial Vault Installation: Burial vaults may only be installed by Pineview Memory Gardens personnel to ensure proper placement and adherence to cemetery standards.
Opening and Closing of Graves: The opening and closing of graves is permitted only by Pineview Memory Gardens personnel. No other person is allowed to disturb the ground, including for the opening or closing of graves for an interment or disinterment of a cremation or casket burial or for planting any type of plant, flower, or shrubbery. Only Pineview personnel are authorized to perform any excavation within the cemetery grounds.
Payment and Authorization: Interments will not proceed until the burial space is fully paid for, and an interment order has been signed by authorized individuals. All applicable fees for services must be paid at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled service.
7. Traffic and Parking
We ask that visitors keep vehicle speeds at or below 10 mph while on cemetery grounds and remain on asphalt roads at all times. Parking on grassy areas or off-road is not permitted.
8. Office and Scheduling Policies
To ensure availability, all service scheduling should be arranged through the cemetery office, with notifications for burial services submitted no less than 48 hours in advance.
The cemetery office is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and closed on weekends and holidays. No service scheduling is possible during closed hours. For emergencies or religious bound immediate burials, please contact 334-872-2301.

Alcohol, drugs, or related activities are strictly prohibited on cemetery grounds.
10. Disclaimer of Liability and Maintenance Responsibilities
Pineview Memory Gardens uses all necessary precautions to maintain the cemetery grounds with the utmost care; however, the cemetery is not liable for minor damage such as scratches, chips, or marks that may occur on monuments and grave markers through normal maintenance practices.
Natural patina may develop on bronze memorials over time due to exposure to the elements, and no warranty is provided against this natural process.
All monuments, memorials, grave markers, headstones, and vases are the responsibility of the deceased’s family. Pineview Memory Gardens is not responsible for the upkeep, repair, or replacement of any private memorial items at any time.
Private Mausoleums and Columbarium Structures: Private mausoleums and columbarium structures are required to be maintained in good condition by the family of the deceased. In the event a private mausoleum or columbarium becomes damaged, the cemetery will make reasonable efforts to notify the family or designated representative. If no family member comes forward or initiates repairs, Pineview Memory Gardens reserves the right to repair or remove the structure and respectfully inter the remains in an appropriate location within the cemetery.
11. Restrictions on Recreational Activities
To honor the peaceful setting, we kindly ask visitors to refrain from recreational activities in areas of interment. The following are not permitted:
· Grilling or open flames: This includes any form of cooking, bonfires, or portable fire pits, as these pose a safety risk and detract from the peaceful environment.
· Receptions or celebrations: Social gatherings, parties, or celebratory events should be scheduled with cemetery management in designated areas outside of interment zones.
· Music or amplified sound: Music and the use of speakers or amplifiers are permitted only during scheduled burial services. Outside of these times, amplified sound is strictly prohibited to preserve the quiet, contemplative environment.
· Alcoholic beverages: Consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited on cemetery grounds.
Exceptions: We welcome family requests for gatherings or cultural practices and ask that they be submitted in advance for approval to ensure they align with cemetery policies and respect for all visitors.
12. Inclement Weather Policy
Service Delays: In the event of severe weather, including torrential rain, thunderstorms, tornado warnings, hurricanes, snow accumulation, extreme winds, flooding, or lightning occurring within a 15-minute period, all interment services will be delayed until the extreme weather has passed. Cemetery staff will monitor conditions and may consult local authorities or weather advisories as needed to determine if delays should be extended for safety.
Safety of Attendees and Staff: To ensure the safety of all attendees and cemetery staff, no services will commence if weather conditions pose a risk. Protective measures, such as moving attendees to sheltered areas, may be taken until the event can safely resume. If advance notice is given by weather officials of severe weather, no services will be scheduled during the expected timeframe.
Communication and Rescheduling: In the case of delays, cemetery staff will communicate with the family or designated representative to keep them informed of anticipated service times. If an interment service must be rescheduled, priority will be given to complete the burial as soon as possible following the weather event during normal daylight hours.
Expedited Completion: Once it is deemed safe to proceed, cemetery staff will prioritize the completion of all weather-delayed services to minimize further disruptions. If daylight or conditions do not permit immediate resumption, the service will be scheduled for the earliest available time on the following day, weather permitting.
Extended Disruptions: For prolonged weather events or regional emergencies, families will be given the option to wait until conditions improve or to reschedule the service for an alternative date.
