Lucea Jewish Cemetery

The Lucea Jewish Cemetery is located next to the Anglican Parish Church burial ground on the main road to Negril. In 1830 the Vestry gave this parcel of land to the Lucea Jewish community which by 1833 established the cemetery. Interments took place from 1834 to 1884 (with one exception in 2023) after which the cemetery fell into disuse. For many years the Emanuel family maintained the cemetery in honour of their ancestor Simon Emanuel Esquire.

There was another Jewish cemetery in Lucea that predates this one. It was located on Cressy Lane but nothing of it can be found.
