The Parks and Recreation department is not responsible for damage, loss or theft to monuments or items left on monuments.

Please do not harvest, cut or plant trees, flowers or shrubs in the cemetery.

Parks and Recreation employees will remove items left on or staked into the ground at regular intervals for the safety of mowers and employees. These items will be stored for a period of time by the workshop in each cemetery and may be retrieved.

Any flowers should be left in vases that are attached to monuments; hung or suspended over 24” off the ground from hooks attached or adjacent to monuments or placed at the head or foot of a monument; or “saddle” style arrangements placed on the headstone.

Flowers left following a funeral will be allowed to remain on the grave for up to 7 days following the funeral. Flowers may be removed earlier if they become wilted, brown or unsightly.

If staff finds flowers or arrangements dislodged by wind, storms or other means those items may be stored by the cemetery workshop.

Grave plots may be transferred by completing appropriate documentation with the City Clerk’s office.

If desiring to bury anyone on the plot other than the owner of the plot or a member of their immediate family a notarized letter with the plot owner’s signature must be provided to the parks and cemetery office.
